Motor Mount

Shaft CouplersFor the motor mount project this week, I did a simple DC toy motor mount based on the lasercut template provided here.

I went and bought some 3mm standoffs from Tinkersphere.

Then I laser cut the 1/4″ acrylic scrap I have and started mounting.

I used a 2mm to 3mm Shaft Coupler to connect the motor to a 3mm rod.

The idea is to have a round patterned shape to sit on top of the rod.

The original idea is to use plywood.

But it turned out to be too burnt.

I then decided to switch to acrylic. To hold the piece on top of the 3mm rod, I cut a hole slightly smaller than 3mm in the center of the acrylic and used a little force to have it fit on the rod.
